The story behind BestBags — and why we believe every woman deserves to carry something truly beautiful.
BestBags began in 2012 when our founder, Isabelle Martin, spent six months travelling through Italy, Morocco, and Turkey — each place a treasure trove of artisan leatherwork and handcrafted accessories.
She returned home with a singular mission: to bring that same quality, craftsmanship, and beauty to women everywhere, at prices that don't require a second mortgage.
Today, BestBags partners with 14 certified artisan workshops across Europe and North Africa to bring you collections that honour traditional craft while embracing modern style.
Each bag in our collection is the result of dozens of hours of skilled handwork — from the initial cutting of the leather, to the careful stitching of every seam, to the final polishing of every buckle and clasp.
We use only Grade A full-grain and top-grain leathers, sourced from certified tanneries that meet our strict ethical and environmental standards.
Our quality control team inspects every single bag before it leaves the workshop. If it's not perfect, it doesn't carry our name.
We source materials from certified sustainable tanneries and use eco-friendly packaging across all our orders. Beautiful things shouldn't cost the earth.
We pay fair wages and build long-term relationships with our artisan partners. Great bags begin with people who are valued and respected.
Fast fashion has no place in our world. Every BestBags piece is designed to last decades — not seasons. We even offer lifetime repairs on all our bags.
